Survival as a concept will mean many things to many different people. What
I will address is Primitive Wilderness Survival or what some may call
Bushcraft. As in anything in life, even in death actually, preparation is the
key to any victory. Therefore, proper preparation is vital to survival - in this
life and the one to come. I am of the mindset that when you are preparing
for Wilderness Survival, tools are the first thing one should purchase.
However, tools are not your greatest asset in a true Wilderness Survival
situation but merely the first things you should buy. Your relationship to God
and your mindset (will to prevail for a purpose greater then you) are your
number one assets in a real life situation. This purpose for prevailing is
love, love of God, love of your family, love of your country. Without this love
you are fighting an up-hill battle and survival will become much more
challenging.
Remember Survival like Self-Defense is a personal thing and the more your
learn and prepare the better your ability to handle situations when they
occur. Also, an interesting thing occurs when you learn more, you carry less
in your Bug Out Bag because things become un-necessary. It is up to each
one of us to prepare and be ready - it is our duty and responsibility as
parents, as neighbors, and as citizens. How can we ever hope protect and
defend the Constitution of the United States if our own house is not in order
and prepared? The idea of every American being prepared trickles into the
idea of a Militia, but that is another subject.
Time is short and its up to you and me to prepare and be ready
- it's time to stand in the Gap.
